What is the name of your state? Texas

I am trying to secure my incoming home phone records for the month of April 2006. I have since changed phone companies. Do I have the right to these records upon paying a reasonable fee? The phone company has told me that I would need a subpoena to get them. I am not currently involved in litigation. The records are of extreme importance because an investigator with a State Agency claims to have called and conducted a phone interview that just simply never occurred. I want my incoming phone records to prove the call never took place. How would I go about getting a subpoena or what do I need to do to get the records? Thank you.

Nope
The phone company has told me that I would need a subpoena to get them.
They are correct.
I am not currently involved in litigation.
Then you have a problem.

You file suit against the investigator for falcifying an official report then have the subpoena issued for 'discovery' of the call records.

Bummer. Have to file a lawsuit. I was hoping to get this taken care of by giving the proof to the right person. My current phone company told me they would sell my incoming records to me for $25. Is it the phone cos. discretion? Is there another way I can go about getting them?

Although the laws are rapidly changing in this area, a good private detective may be able to get the records. Call around, it could be a lot easier than filing suit.
