I would argue that your actions with respect to your other ex are very pertinent to this stbx. And perhaps vice-versa.

Then you would say that incarceration for for 18 months is reason to terminate parental rights ? I have to go on what can be proven not innuendo from my ( thank god ) STBX . I have an attorney and he and I are meeting next week to discuss the situation .

If your attorney suggests that incarceration alone is grounds for termination of parental rights and you agree, then you have two fools piloting that ship.

BB it's always great to hear your opinions . Actually I started this post for ideas about a step up plan to resume the ex's every other weekend visitation when the thread was highjacked by my STBX . Apparently in the eyes of some here being reasonable and agreeable is the wrong way to handle the matter .

No, but I would say that hearing the other side of the story is interesting and potentially relevant. Funny how there's always another side to things, isn't it?

And it would be even funnier to hear the WHOLE story . :D

Which we won't get from you. You will only be able to provide part of it. The portion from your stbx will fill in some more. As will the portion from your ex. The *truth* will be somewhere in between. Your version, however, ain't it.

The home he is living in he would nt even have if it wern't for my signature as primary. Due to if he put his name on it it would have been siezed due to him owing 139,000.00 in back taxes from 1994-1999.

Just wanted to update....thanks.:)

Well...that's certainly a context regarding "character". No honest mistake gets someone in hock for 139k to the IRS. That may be six years worth of taxes, but that indicates some MAJOR tax evasion.

Gee , I wonder why I'm not in jail ? Thank you for your baseless personal attack . Ever hear of interest and penalties and some good old fashioned exaggeration ?

Dude, I am a professional tax consultant. Don't give me the interest and penalties argument. I know exactly what got you into that position, and how much income was involved. I also know why you aren't in jail...because its in the best interest of all taxpayers that you are out and working.

I just hope that your stbx and your previous ex were smart enough not to file any joint returns with you.

I also reviewed your previous thread and now remember when I "called" you before on your game playing with the IRS...and the game playing that you are obviously still pulling with child support.

Let me remind you that your future social security benefits depend upon your employment/self employment "credits". If you keep up your current game plan, you are not only going to end up owing 139k to the government, but you are going to end up being a very poor old man with little to no SS retirement benefits.

I have a current client who absolutely refuses to claim all of the expenses that he could claim on his schedule C. He absolutely insists on paying more in tax than he should have to pay. Why?....because his father is 70 years old and only gets 200.00 a month in retirement benefits...because his father played games his entire life with his taxes and amassed next to no social security credits. I cannot convince my client to claim his full expenses and put the tax savings into an IRA. He is too paranoid of ending up like his dad.

He is the opposite extreme from you...foolish but in no way illegal.

You have lost all credibility with me.

How the heck did he get a house that was solely in your name?...why didn't the judge order that it be sold, or order that you retain the house so that you could dispose of it how you saw fit?

I am glad for you that you only got stuck with one year on the taxes. I hope that you learned a lessen from this. If you remarry don't file a joint tax return unless all finances are completely and crystally transparent. Don't accept any "game playing" to reduce/manipulate taxes.

I went back and reviewed his previous threads and you seriously got conned.

Because i's a rental and STBX believes she is owd half the value of the house because we have an option to buy .

Actully the taxes I paid from my full time job offset the taxes owed by the business.

Yeah right .
Ask her why she has refused to provide the court with any of her financial information and is soon to be facing a contempt charge .
