If i have to wait until the fiance and I are married, though, Tennessee court might be a better bet for me, since that's where I'll be living when we get hitched.

Or can I take him to court to give his rights up before I'm married?

Does anyone officially know the length of time for an abandonment case in illinois? Or in Tennessee? I know in Iowa it's only 6 months.
