What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

I have been a bit behind on Child Support payments and made a lump sum payment. Does it all go to my ex?

She's telling my child that because I was behind the state is not giving her the money. If this isn't true how can I find out if she received the money and is just lying to my child? Help please! I live in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.

None of this is your child's business, whether she got the money or not. Response to child: Children should not be involved in financial issues. I will not discuss child support with you.

She's a pig of a mother if she's involving the child in this.

If she's not on state aid, all of the money goes to her. If she is/was on state aid, the money goes to pay back the state.

So long as the money left your hands and went to Child Support Enforcement (or who ever you sent it to), not your problem.

However, go talk to whoever you paid.... that's always a start.

Nope.

It's not your job (nor is it your child's) to worry about the money, when it's delivered and in what manner, how it's spent, nothing. You worry about paying it, about paying it on time, and about paying it in full.

But, if he owes because the Mother received some type of State services or assistance that are owed for, he may have paid what he believed he owed in that lump sum, a part of the amount was reimbursed to the State, therefore, he may not actually be caught up on the arrears.

To save himself some future problems, it may be best to contact enforcement to verify his current arrears and what portion of the funds may have gone to reimburse the State.

I disagree. If he paid what he was supposed to pay, to who ever he was supposed to pay it to, when and how much they disburse whatever they choose to disburse is NOT his business. The only time he SHOULD get involved is if they claim he DIDN'T pay what he was supposed to.
