What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? hawaii\nevada

Back in hawaii the court ordered that I pay for my 3 children to fly back to Hawaii for court ordered visitation. However I jsut gave birth 3 months ago and have been out of work and he owes 46,000 of backchild support from the past 4 years he only started paying again when we went back to court a few months ago, and I can't afford to pay the 3,000 it will cost to send them back because everything i make goes to the basics. Is there a way that he can pay for the tickets and it could go towards the childsupport he owes? I don't see how its fair that he doesn't have to support his kids and I have to pay so that he can see them.

i have one question for you.

did you move the kids from Hawaii to Nevada? or were the both of you living in Nevada and HE moved to Hawaii?

I moved to nevada because with no support I couldn't provide a good life for my children. After our divorce and he lost custody because of abuse and 2 failed drug test he stoped paying his child support

you were ordered to pay for the transportational costs because you were moving the children so far away. dad's failed drug test had nothing to do with that.

dad's child support has nothing to do with you paying the transportational costs. and your new pregnancy? is that from the same father? because if it's not, it's still not dad's problem.

now, you can negotiate with dad to have him pay the transportational costs to supplement the support but you would have to communicate with dad about that and come to an agreement.

whether or not it can be a court order or if a judge can force dad to accept those terms, you'd have to file for a modification to have that heard. you cannot just make that decision to disregard a court order.

Are you going to pay for his hotel, too?

I'm not trying to be harsh here - but you evidently knew that you had this commitment before having your last child. Why would you put yourself in that bind?

I moved and then it was ordered while I was already pregnant. Also I concieved after my fiance had a vesctomy and I do not believe in abortions.

Thats what i thought ...but nowdays there are different shorthand for everything I wanted to be sure. And I got pregnant on the pill and after a vesectomy on my ex fiances part. I was already 4 months when I found out. When my fiance found out he signed the birth certificate but is now giving me problems after being together for 4 years I thought he would stick by me

Thats a great suggestion however I spent over 50k fighting to keep my kids in the divorce the judge awarded me sole legal and sole physical after all was said and done.******

and I just wanted to let the other person responding that if I put my problems out there then I can't be upset if people criticize me or have harsh comments thats just life.

I want to stress I am a great mom I do everything in my power to make sure they are safe and happy which is why I spent all the moneytrying to protect them. And trust me the luck I have had with men I will.

(No harm done, I knew what you were referring to :) )

The bottom line is that if you were ordered to pay transportation...then you're going to have to find a way to pay it.

I know that Dad is in arrears. But child support isn't a ticket to see the kids - and since you created the distance, it's pretty much the norm for you to absorb the costs of transportation.

One quick question - when did this current order (the one where you're paying transportation) become effective?
