in order to receive partial unemployment benefits I would have had to work less than 20 hours per week at the part time jobs that I took. the least that I have worked since I lost my R.V. job is 32 hours a week. I guess that I feel like if you are capable of working even 2 or 3 part time jobs instead of taking UI... YOU SHOULD, AND I DID!

I don't look down my nose at those who are trying and have to take partial UI, in some circumstances it is the right thing to do. but I find it ridiculous that anyone would act like I am some kind of Idiot for working hard and not relying on UI.

That is the type of moral decay that caused this country to slide down the crapper in the first place!

So pay for your house debt. After all you signed the mortgage and promised to pay it. Oh that type of hypocrisy doesn't count, right? It is not moral decay? It is just what you as an upstanding Republican believe is correct. Yeah. I call hypocrite.

after re-reading your original post, I see that you recently filed BK.

start with speaking with the bank to make sure your suspicions are correct. If you file BK, they may take title at that point.

If they say they aren't, (and mind you this is only to get them to move on the issue), tell them you are considering renting it out as long as it remains in your name.

If that doesn't work, come on back.

And he decided NOT pay the debt that he swore to pay -- but still thinks it is somewhat honorable to walk away from it while not accepting UI. I see a hypocrite in the OP.

you are right I do find it somewhat honorable to walk away from the house... that is what you do when you are unable to pay for it... you give it back... but I guess a good old Democrat like you would sit on your but, collect unemployment, eat the food that you bought with your food-stamps, call all of your Socialist (I mean Democrat) friends on your free "Obama-Phone", and stay in the house for free until they kick you out...

First of all, THANK YOU FOR THE ADVICE!!!

I have spoken with the bank and they said that they have no Idea how long it will be until they take the title, however I will try the renting tactic, it can't hurt!

To everyone else on this forum...

It is insane that this thread is four pages long and this is the first helpful advice I have gotten.

The name of this website is "freeadvice.com" and up to this point all I have received are personal attacks. I have been called an Idiot, a hypocrite, a deadbeat, and the only reason that I am here was for some "Free Advice".

Does anyone else see something wrong with this?

Oh give it a REST.

Argue over something of importance.

Like what flavour tea I'd prefer tonight.

I have been told that Bigelow's Constant Comment is similar if not the same as Earl Grey (or is it gray). No other flavour (oh, your Brit is showing) matters.

*shows her Brit knee in revolt, and also to keep in line with Ms. Spears' stylish look*

(See what I did there? BWAHAHAHAA)

(I'll take Earl mixed with peppermint, thank you very much)

How full of yourself you are. You won't use Unemployment insurance but you will not fulfill contracts. You are quite clueless.

And with this little gem I've lost all sympathy for you period. So you call defaulting on a mortgage "giving it back"? You filed for bankruptcy so does that mean that all the other defaulted loans and expenses that were charged off "given back" too? You didn't want to take unemployment because you didn't want to freeload but it was ok to walk away from expenses YOU created and couldn't pay for? I'd personally call that MAJOR freeloading. I hope you enjoyed all those "free" things you made someone else pay for. You're such a giant hypocrite *spit*

That's the thing with you Republicans, your rules and rants always apply to others than yourselves.

"You can keep your insurance if you like it. You can keep your doctor. Your insurance rates will not go up."

Looks like hypocrisy belongs to BOTH parties.

It ain't about parties or politics -- he made it about that. It is about THIS OP. He is the hypocrite. OP is a huge hypocrite.

OP's not the one making blanket statements 'bout parties.

Did you miss this:

Really? Not a blanket statement about Democrats?

I really don't understand all of this bit about unemployment.

If someone wants to work two low paying jobs and not take unemployment, how much partial unemployment does anyone think that the person could get? The last time I was on unemployment (which admittedly was a long time ago) the maximum weekly benefit in Indiana was 335.00. 40 hours of minimum wage is about 290.00. The difference is not enough to make or break someone's ability to make a house payment.

I think that this whole argument got a little ridiculous.
