I’m working as a contractor for an IT firm and my contract ends on April 4 2015. The company wants to bring me on as a full time employee but they claim they can’t do that until sometime after April and don’t know when this will happen. Currently I’m considered a limited time employee with full benefits. They want me to continue to work without a contract until they can get their act together and come up with a way to bring me on as a full time employee. My question is what is the legal responsibility of the company if I do stay on without a contract?
