I wasn't given a chance to be involved in my sons life she wouldn't let me see my own son anymore even when I said I would pay! I just wanted to see him n she always said no! I love my son and yea maybe I messed up and I don't want to say cuz is personal but I am the father and need a chance to be there for my son! He has my last name I know I have rights cuz I'm the dad! I'm even trying to start saving up money for his future cus I love him and care about him I. Just wasn't allowed to see him that's not my fault that's her

Do you wish to be taken seriously? then write like a grown-up.

I did try to contact my son but she never let me! I didn't kno I was supposed to go to court cuz I knew I was on birth certificate so I'm the father n I thought that mean I have rights! She never put me on child support but I will pay child support now if that's what I have to do to see my son! If I tel them I will pay will the judge let me have my son now? Can I defend myself and say she dint let me see him n that's why I haven't seen him in 3 years? Cuz is t that illegal that she keep him from me?

NO.

You have not bothered to enforce any rights, you have not bothered to even inquire as to how to GET any enforceable rights. Because you didn't do that, the court is going to say this is your fault and yours alone.

And the court would be correct.

Now how about you think of what's best for this little boy versus what YOU want? You haven't said a single thing about HIS best interest.

You didn't bother doing anything up until now, when you've been asked to consent to an adoption ... so why are you bothered now? Is there a new partner on the horizon who wants to play Mommy? (or second/third Daddy)

At the end of the day, your ignorance of the law will not help you. You should really speak with a family law attorney ASAP. However, do not be surprised if you are hit with child support back to birth. Certainly moving forward.

And I'm with Meanie. I've never run into an ESL speaker type as you do, Chief..sorry.....

ESL is absolutely a possibility when your first language is Text Speak ...

You haven't answered my questions.

Why is that?

And don't bother hiding behind "ESL" ... you know, and we know, that you're a lazy typist. Nothing more, nothing less. At least own your "tx spk".

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Yes, there is a possibility that a decent (or better) attorney could stop the adoption. I'm not commenting on the odds, but it is a possibility.

The case for custody, visitation, and child support would be separate from the adoption matter. Visitation and child support are separate issues - you don't need to pay child support to see your child if the court orders it. If your child is adopted, you are no longer that child's parent. You will not be responsible for child support after the adoption is finalized (but, if child support is ordered before that, you will have to pay it up until the adoption is finalized.)

There's nothing else this forum can do for you. Go talk to a family law attorney...or don't. The choice is yours.

We're you married to Mom? If not, how long has she been married to her current husband? This is important information.

Yes, a knowledgeable lawyer MAY be able to stop an adoption, but may not. If the lawyer says they can definitely stop it? Find a different lawyer.
