What is the name of your state? Tennessee My father in law, a 60 year old man had congestive heart failure. He had an appointment for setting up a date for valve replacement surgery. Before that could happen, he blacked out while driving and hit the side of a building due to the heart. They...

    Iowa Law Juvenile Responsibility

Unfortunately because the offender is a minor it was the owners responsibility to have insurance, especially knowing it was problem.

    Why is child support around???

I agree, to the extent that like another poster already said, they aren't getting government assistance to stay home. What many don't realize that condemn working parents, is that they still have the same job as housewives and stay at home moms on their own time, and many work while kids are in...

Can I Move Out? Don't Want to Live There!

I'm having a hard time with your priority being moving so she can't contact you, instead of trying to see your son or get visitation. Definitely more to this.

    Support/College

Not only up to the judge but up to the amount paid too. There is difference in a parent paying a minimum amount and larger amount that could have been more. If the child is going to be with dad the majority of the time why would you expect child support? That money is for the kid, not you...

Want to have Father's rights terminated

You really need to get an attorney to handle this. You best option (all though not a sure win) is for the new husband to file to adopt. Then they would notify bio dad and you could tell judge why it was in her best interest. How often does he pay child support? Is it court ordered?

Children want to live with non-custodial parent

Just wanted to say to now get in a big hurry, if she fights it, it could be drawn out for a while. My bil filed last April and it's just been postponed again to July. Even if it's done then, it's been over a year of fights and legal battles.

shes trying to keep it all

exactly, which is why I was nicely trying to point out the error in the beginning.

    childs rights to refuse?

Oh my gosh, I am astounded you are advising this child to break the law, run away, and and have her mother found in contempt. There is nothing in this post legal. If father doesn't press it, then nothing may happen, but if he does everything we have said is true. Do not believe this person...

    Why is child support around???

I don't anyone is trying to say you are useless because you are a stay at home mom. Just possible naive to possibilities and other realities. I think it's great if you can stay at home with your kids for awhile. I also think daycare/preschool is very important before a child starts...

Child hurt in store, what do they want me to tell them?

I can't speak for everyone, but I feel there is too much missing info here to even begin to help. What was he hit with? Was anything found that hit him? What does he say happened? How do you know something hit him and he didn't just bite his lip. More info please on exactly what happened...

    Question about utilities

You can terminate the service in your name. If there is some weird policy about not cutting off because of the child, that would be on the utility company. If you have filed for divorce it would be good to take those papers to them as many companies require joint accounts anyway as long as you...
