What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Alaska
My boyfriend/partner informed me this morning that he consulted a lawyer. We will be meeting with him later today. I'm concerned about what this means to me.
Apparantly the lawyer said we live together and that the equity in my house...

I tried to search on my own and can't find the appropriate site. What I am trying to find is a site where I can research Alaska laws specifically concerning terminating parental rights. I would like to find the laws of when it is allowed and if it is...

I posted a while ago about being rear-ended. I am presently trying to settle the car damages with the insurance co. The accident took place on April 19th and I feel like they are really dragging their feet.
I opened a claim with my insurance co. to pay...
It doesn't work that way
A father can't just choose to terminate his rights if it worked that way a lot of them would to get out of child support. The state doesn't want to end up supporting theses children. Unless you have a husband that wants to adopt these children it isn't going to...
Unfortunately Catholic Social Services in Anchorage had to recently shut down their Immigration legal assistance due to lack of funds. They could probally point you in the right direction for a lawyer however.
get out
Are you stupid? You can't "change" someone. I'm sure his ex-wife thought the same thing and then you deliberately bring a child into this situation. In 20 years when it your daughter crying on your shoulder and your trying to figure out why she puts up with being abused you'll know...

I',ve never been in an accident before so I don't really know what to do.

I have a son that is 12. His dad and I have not been together since before his birth. I do not know where his father is. I do have contact with his parents. CSED collects some cs from him but he is in arrears.
Here are my questions. In the past we...
The more people that love your child the better for your child. I have no contact w/ my sons father I don't even know where he is. We split up when I told him I was pregnant. I have always maintained a good relationship w/ his parents however. My son just spent 2 weeks w/ them for spring...
He can't "waive" his rights and not pay child support. If guys could do this almost all of them would do so. You could choose to not name him as the father but if you are receiving any aid from the state you are required to give them the paternity info.
I didn't mean a right to an inheritance from his grandparents I know they'r not financially responsible. I actually have a good relationship w/ the grandparents, my son just spent 2 weeks w/ them for spring break. What I was wondering was if I could go after anything his father might inherit?
I read in one thread that he was liable for 10 yrs. Do I need to do anything i.e. get a judgement etc. to protect my son? Does my son have aright to any inheritence either from grandparents or if something happened to his father?
