Why would I need to save money? will the judge ask for support payment right then ?

yes, and unless YOU want to end up in debt because of your husband voluntarily not working - YOU better save YOUR paychecks!

Do you understand that because he is not supporting his child, he will end up in debt, which will make YOU BOTH in debt because you are married?

I personally love how its always WE when it comes to custody/visitation etc of the spouse's children but the SECOND you mention child support/money owed to the Mother, its suddenly not "their" responsibilty.

Tell you hubby to get a job to support HIS child because its not YOUR responsibilty to do so.

My ex and his wifey have a great plan (the only thing I applaud about her!!): His check goes into his own special account w/out her name on it. Then the child support is automatically deducted on certain days a month and sent to me. Therefore, none of "her" money pays for the children she didn't have a part in creating.

I realize what I did was wrong by overstepping my boundaries. I now realize that and I'm also realizing the harsh truth involving children outside the marriage

I don't want to be in debt because of my husband, he will get employment shortly, just not right now. I thought my income wouldn't be affected

Reality check here. Whether dad is working or not, the baby still wants to eat, have a roof over his/her head, clean diapers, clothes, etc.

When we get married, it is for better or worse, in sickness and in health, for RICHER OR POORER. You might be slightly poorer until hubby gets a job. Life throws curve balls. The better you get at catchin' 'em, the better you will be.

Your INCOME won't be affected, but your bank account balance certainly will. That is the sucky part of hubby with no job but another woman's child he is obligated to feed.

That's why I supported him in the begining with visitation

I will help with what I can but I can't pay his monthly child support everytime. Maybe we can talk to the mother to work out something, hopefully

It's not YOUR responsibility to pay for HIS children.

Sure, maybe their mother can make her children magically not be hungry! OR she could somehow blink her eyes and POOF! There's medical care! Wiggle her nose and SHAZAM! Diapers!

That'll work. :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Maybe that will happen but if she is going to court, the judge will probably go by state guidelines. Seriously though, if you think about it, why shouldnt dad take care of his responsibilty? The child IS half his. The child is going to need things. Why cant dad work?

I know kids are expensive and I will do what I can to help. I will try to talk to her to see if we can workout something with her, is that a good idea. I really want to help I just don't want to get stuck the entire time, that's all.

Then convince your husband that getting a job is a good thing.
