Copying DVD Rentals

I did pass on the link to my mother. She is looking into it. I also looked at the FBI website, but I could not find anything there about copyright infringement investigations. Please forgive me but I'm going to list them all here. Everything I saw looked to be about national intelligence, cyber crimes, antitrust, bankruptcy, environmental, financial, government, health care, insurance, money laundering, securities, telemarketing, art, indian country, jewelry, public corruption, civil rights, and organized crimes.

None of those jumped out at me as being pertinent to copying copyrighted dvd's.

You guys are giving the OP a false sense of hope. Can you put our differences aside and tell her what will happen in the real world? If you guys weren’t senior members, I’m pretty sure IAAL, stephenk, BB, etc…would have come along by now and gave the OP a reality check. How far do you really think she is going to get by contacting a FBI tip line with this? I’ve already expressed my opinions, but racer is trying to discredit them. Can anyone give some realistic advice?

By your last post, I can tell you agree with me. Why don't you grow up and tell her what the probability of something actually happening is? You don't want to. Why? I can tell I've mad you a little angry. You have realized that you have made incorrect assumptions. That is why you haven't answered any of my previous questions. Now, you are taking a infant defense and telling me to "shut the hell up." This unfortunately is not only a poor reflection upon you, but also, it reflects poorly on a poster who is seeking advice from this forum. Most importantly, it reflects poorly on other senior members and freeadvice.com. Again, grow up..... Why don’t you take on a fiduciary role and give her legitimate advice? Your using your senior member status to outweigh other members opinions. Do you think that is fair?

Thank you for proving my point to others (you do need to grow up). Can you answer my questions (side stepper )? Do you really want the OP, who is a third party in all of this, to put time and effort into contacting the FBI? You must think they don't have anything to do. How many tips do you think they get a day? Your responses are to hide the fact that you are in the wrong. You are bringing out your inner-child and arguing like a teenage boy going through puberty. Then, smack yourself it the face a couple of times to push the kid in you back inside. After you do this, you should be able to have a mature debate. Don't let him take over now. Seriously, work on this. If all else fails, go to your local bookstore to pick up self help books.

The funny thing is that if you weren't a senior member the other senior members would jump all over you. The only senior member I have seen that will actually dissent with one of his own kind is stephenk. I can respect that. I had a healthy debate with him on another topic, and I did not lose any respect for the guy. Now that I have said that, he will probably come along and bash me. Well, I hope not; I was just trying to state that I respect him for his ability to express his opinion no matter who he is in disagreement with.

Well the guy has been reported to the Motion Picture Association. I'm skeptical anything will come of it, but I will post results. I wouldn't think anything would happen very quickly.
