Suppose there's an emergency while kiddo is with Mom, and Dad is unavailable - what does he suggest Mom do? Many ERs will only stabilize a patient w/o insurance.

In all honesty, this is one of the more ridiculous lines in the sand I've ever seen.

Sorry, local Dr. and local hospital both have insurance info on file. We are just trying to keep her out of walk-in clinics and such, where Mom has a chance to talk a Dr. into medication. The Dr. Mom used before voluntarily sent all his files to Dad's selection of Dr.; he actually wanted to just be rid of Mom anyway. We think that is really what she is so mad about.

Actually, Dad is leaning toward giving her the card, with the stipulation that any charges incurred (co-pays and items not covered) will be Mom's responsibility to pay, unless she notifies Dad and it was determined to be medically necessary. It was never Dad's intent to prevent their daughter from receiving medical treatment, only to prevent unnecessary Dr. visits.

So she's also restricted to being in close proximity to the local doctor and ER?

I am sorry; it sounds like I have pushed your buttons, and I really didn't mean to. We are just trying to make sure daughter is taken care of, and Mom can't seem to do just that (that's why Dad has custody). She would spend every day in the Dr.'s office, if she could. We are just trying to keep daughter from growing up like that.

If Mom does not have the card, or the money, most Dr.'s will not want her business. If daughter is really sick, then there are available options where she can go. (btw, Mom says she doesn't have the gas money to drive to our town (20 miles) to pick up daughter for visitation; local Dr. and hospital are both in her hometown.)

Sorry again.
