I didn't want this to turn into a "Did it or didn't it happen" debate, because I know it happened. I would have posted if I wasn't sure. I didn't think this kind of thing was normal, but I didn't rule it out, either. It's possible that they think I may be selling. The person who used to live in the bedroom could have very well been a seller, or possibly linked to a bigtime seller... and they could have taken him out.

EDIT: She already hated me, but I know that my roommate hated me even more for leaving, because I expressed that I didn't want to live with her to other roommates. Her assumption was that I only wanted to move out so that I could do illegal things. Tricking me into living with cops is EXACTLY what I would expect from her. I was in a way "celebrating" being free from the legal nannying of the old house by purchasing these substances. It backfired.

I just wanted to know what kind of options I have. Is this sort of thing legal?

How do you know so much about them if they don't know you at all? If they know nothing about you, then why would they do any of the things you are alleging?

Your story doesn't add up.

Knocking on the door? It doesn't work that way. They lie. It was way too late to say anything to anyone. I was also still experiencing the effects. What would I have to say if I got up there? "Oh, I thought I heard my old roommate in your bedroom." Like I said, I've confronted this person in the past (about a few things), and she lies. These people aren't any different.

I know what it's like to be paranoid (on shrooms, also), but I DON'T hear things that are indistinguishable from reality. In fact, my ears are musically trained, which strengthens sensitivity to all sounds.

Are you sure you weren't having a bad trip? I'm not qualified to give any legal advice for I myself have legal issues, that's why I'm on here.

But I will tell you the members who are qualified to help you on here won't. They won't tell you how to find out if they are undercover and won't help you break the law.

I'm kind of surprised IAAL hasen't nominated your thread for the December 15th contest.

I'm not claiming to know these new roommates well. I am talking in detail about my previous roommate.

I didn't register here to get help breaking the law. This is a matter of my privacy. I'm not a strung-out druggie who has blurred reality for himself. It'd be so much easier to say that, but it's not the case.

I'm just trying to tell you that they won't help you because you are breaking the law. I believe that if you want to use them it is your business, your body. But there are cops and lawyers on here that don't see things that way.

Do this.

Buy yourself a VCR and videotape the television transmissions. Real or imagined.

Also, buy yourself two video cameras (a medium sized one and an exceptionally small one) and stealthily set it up the small one in your rented room to run continuously.

Each tape (video or VCR) collect and place in a safe place other than your room.

If your perceptions are real, this will give you something to do in order to feel like you can take back control of your private life. If you are paranoid, this will give you some paranoid satisfaction. If you are correct, these tapes will help you someday. If you are stoned and halucinating, these same tapes will give you something to zing-out on while watching at a later date.

That's not what your first post said:

Anyway, I ate the mushrooms at 11p.m, and planned to smoke a couple of hours later. At 1 a.m., I realized that I was being watched. In my room. I kept hearing voices above me, one of which sounded strangely familiar. Almost like a former roommate’s voice! I also kept hearing loud noises in that room above me, like wooden platforms being moved, tapping, and other suspicious ruckus. It all hit me when I saw a FAKE commercial on my TV, with the former roommate’s name in the bottom left-hand corner. It was being transferred from the room above mine (the cable wires go in that direction).

Oh, give me a break. So your argument is that a small amount of mushrooms gave me temporary insanity. You're quoting what I heard and saw - NOT what I imagined. As I have already mentioned, I still hear these noises upstairs. I still hear one of the roommates making himself cough as soon as I go up to his floor and prepare food in the kitchen. There's really no way to convince anyone here about my intuitive nature or the fact that I can handle using drugs like psychadelics without losing my mind. I've gotten rid of everything, and will have to accept living there - it's more motivating than anything else. Anyway, thanks to some of you for your non-judgemental replies.

This is called "cause and effect".

Well why don't you sum up what your legal question is? If it is are your privacy rights being violated I would say if it is undercover cops, no. If it is your ex roomate then yes. But if your question is how to find out they are undercover cops, then as I said the senior members won't help you break the law.

I'm not trying to be mean to you, I'm trying to help you realize that with a story like that, they will think you are a druggie trying to not get caught. Have you read some other people's threads? They have actually been pretty nice to you compared to some others.

My question is can they use surveillance on me for the remainder of my lease (the next 6 months) even if I'm not doing anything illegal? I found out last night that my macintosh operating system has mysteriously disappeared from the computer, so I can't access anything. Since I had pirated software on the computer and I am sharing a network with the roommates (whom all more than computer savvy), I hardly find this coincidental. My next question would be - do they have the right to take everything that I had on my computer because of some illegal files, or am I entitled to delete them if I can recover anything?

I just want to live without being watched, especially if I'm not breaking the law.

Ok, keep in mind I am not qualified to help with legal issues but if it IS undercover cops then they probably have a court order/warrant to do whatever they are doing. If you had some illegal files then they could take your hole computer if they wanted to.......with a warrant. I'm pretty sure that would have to inform you that they took it though.

Have you spoke to the guy who is renting you the room? Maybe he took your computer thing. Have you told him what you think is going on? Does he live there too? Maybe he knows the people who you think are the cops.

As I said I am not against drugs, I think it should be legal to take them in the privacy of your own home but you said "I just want to live without being watched, especially if I'm not breaking the law." If you are using drugs and have illegal files on your computer then you are breaking the law.

Just keep your nose clean for awhile and if it is cops maybe they wil go away if they aren't getting any charges on you. Sorry I don't know how to tell if they are undercover cops. Maybe if you leave out some donuts, if they disappear you will know that their cops. :D
