tip-toeing in...

SCRA replaced SSCRA in 2003. As a federal law, it eliminates the need for a state specific clause for military terminations. http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/sscra/a/scra1.htm

Here are the specifics for terminating leases: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/sscra/l/blscra305.htm

south says: "Under the SSCRA, a lease can only be terminated if entered into before one goes onto active duty. The SSCRA has no provisions for terminating leases entered into after entry on active duty."

This is no longer correct...active duty members and their dependents (activated reserve and guard) can terminate their leases with PSC or deployment orders.

Nice little debate , but as far as Legal Advice , this thread should have ended here .

Congratulations you are in a state that enforces the clause, I can only by go your original post and the way it was written, now you add some more things below... [snip]

Let us know what they say on Monday...

I already apologized for assuming all and sundry knew about military leasing laws but, other than that, I haven't dropped any grand bombshells which weren't in the OP. You read it and then quoted portions of it throughout the thread, so you had to have seen the links and the notation that we've had serious problems with the rental company (and the links I included to give reference). It isn't my fault if you wanted to assume that the problems were just proof I was horrid rather than at least skim the background provided to you. But in the future I will include a recap in addition to links, if it will stave off misunderstandings.

ENASNI~ you are so very bad. :D And I still like South. Guy's got style.

Okay, without knowing a thing about what is going on here, I just want to say for the record that I am on Enansi and South's side.

I vote for the lederhosen.
