The current wording of the renunciation part of the oath of allegiance is too broad for me specifically since the only country I need to renounce is Nigeria, not a "prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty". Can I ask that 'renounce and abjure absolutely and entirely all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which the applicant was before a subject or citizen ' be changed to 'renounce and abjure absolutely and entirely all allegiance and fidelity to Nigeria?'I believe this is a minor request that will still fulfill the 2nd principle of the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1953. I do not have any problem with any other part of the oath of allegiance.
