I meant the tenter..
I know what you meant ... :)

For those of you who were in suspense I'm sorry for making you wait for so long but I had a doctor's appointment after court and a few errands to run.

We went to court this morning and of ALL the people awaiting extradition over the past 21 days my SIL is the ONLY one who has not been transported. The extradition deputy said when she saw his name on the docket she wanted to know what the hell he was still doing here and made a phone call to Mississippi and guess what ... hadn't received a phone call back from them yet!!! The PD talked to someone in Mississippi who informed him they couldn't find ANY information on the case or find anything saying my SIL was wanted but would continue to "investigate" and let the PD know. The Judge was informed of all the problems and said he wanted answers "IMMEDIATELY" but would have to keep my SIL in custody until they got them. The PD said as soon as they got word they would release him otherwise it will be 9 more days and at the stroke of midnight on the 9th day he would be free to go as they can no longer hold him. EVERYONE seems to think MS does not want to have to admit to the error so is just going to let the days expire and have San Diego set him free. I smell something VERY FOUL ...

I tried calling the D.A.'s Office in Laurel MS also and believe it or not got NO ANSWER!!! Do these people ever WORK and if so do they know how to do their jobs correctly???

Am I pissed, NO, I AM BEYOND PISSED!!! I have EVERY intention to SCREAM foul as loud as I can to everyone and anyone who will listen. I have half a mind to call every newspaper and T.V. Station I can and tell them the story. I swear I'm going to call, e-mail, or write every Attorney, Judge, and Government Official until SOMEONE decides to see Justice served. I"ll help put that little insignificant town on the map for ALL the WRONG reasons and then MAYBE I'll get answers and then MAYBE someone will be held accountable.

The worse part is, even though everyone knows he's going to lose his job, his home, and everything else all they can say is "that's the way it goes sometimes". And when I asked if we'd at least get an "I'm Sorry" everyone agreed that will never happen. Oh, trust me, YES IT WILL. If it's the last thing I do before I lay down and die!!! This whole thing is BS and everyone knows it but nobody wants to do anything about it. I guess if I were rich and famous and killed my spouse they'd let me go and call it "justice"!!!

I will keep you ALL informed of any and all updates unless of course I find myself behind bars also ... :D Arrested in the name of Justice!!!

That might not be a bad idea...

I can't imagine your frustration, needshelp! I am keeping my fingers crossed. When all is said and done, and CA let's him go, it might be worth a call to a TV station or two in MS to raise a little ruckus on the injustice of this situation. If you were to do it beforehand, they MS might come up with a charge just to save face. Good luck!!!

You're right, they might do the same thing to me as they are doing to him ... I just can't get over how NOBODY in MS knows ANYTHING. It was a LIVE BODY who either answered the phone or the teletype, it didn't answer itself. Unless of course MS is so advanced they have technology we don't. Oh wait, that couldn't be possible, we are after all talking about a town where NOBODY knows ANYTHING ... :D

And Thank You, I need all the luck I can get.

I've included a link to the list of state Senators for MS. What does anyone think of her sending an email to a few of them to see if one of them might be interested in inquiring about the case?? The two I pullled up have their emails listed...

http://www.state.ms.us/frameset.jsp?URL=http://www.ls.state.ms.us/ss_membs.htm

THANK -YOU SO MUCH, regardless of what happens I will be sending them e-mails letting them know what has happened in their state, from what I was told today it isn't the first time. I was told San Diego has had problems with MS before. Gee, no kidding??? Can't imagine that!!! I appreciate your thoughtfulness, it gives me somewhere to start.

Shazaam, shazaam, shazaam! That is what goober tells me that MS is thinking right now. Translation - (Well that's another fine mess you gotten us in to, Ollie!).

You can certainly be able to prove damages when a civil suit goes forth from this episode. Don't waste your time and energy just now complaining to politicians. Find that attorney. It gets real, real good and nasty in this case. Wanna know why? Cause it crosses state lines...

Wanna know what that means?????

Ask that attorney ! :D

You are reading my mind........

All right you two, don't keep me in suspense, what does that mean??? With all the mind reading and telepathy on I got lost!!! You'll have to explain it to me as I'm a bit naive when it comes to these things as I've never had to deal with them before. And now that I have to look at the BS ... :D

not fair!

You guys! Poor needshelp... I was stymied too! I looked in Google too, under "crossing state lines 1983" "1983 civil suits"... etc...
I got some interesting information on when they changed state lines in St Laurens, So. Carolina... something about foodstamps... and lots on hazardous materials..
And I thought I was "The Internet Columbo".

Read the section... Civil action for deprivation of Rights, humour the blonde, okay? ;)
Why does crossing state lines make her case even stronger?

Needshelp... Maybe I will buy you a Margarita in 9 days (8 now), when SIL gets out. Here in San Diego I know where they make the best. :)

I could use a short short-tempered lady in my life, I have a Landlord I want to give heck to! ;)
