Nope. That is not what I said at all.
Obviously, they know his age.
And no, that age alone does NOT make him a protected person.
Actually Brian's parents had assumed the role of caregiver in addition to the age defined protection offered under CALIFORNIA CODES - WELFARE AND INSTITUTIONS CODE SECTIONS
15610.27. "Elder" means any person residing in this state, 65 years
of age or older.
15630. (a) Any person who has assumed full or intermittent
responsibility for care or custody of an elder or dependent adult,
whether or not he or she receives compensation....
They can't just kick grandpa to the curb and most likely Brian's parents know that and Brian doesn't know or understand this. Perhaps they don't know how to get help in dealing with this problem.

Even IF the old fart has alzheimers doesn't mean he has the right to abuse you or your family nor does it mean that he can circumvent the L/T laws.
If he's in the early stages of Alzheimers then he has a place to go...it's called the abusived old fart's home." Sorry, L/T laws in California, don't trump elder abuse laws, it violates public policy and can result in consequences under CPC's. In California, there are helps for families dealing with appropriate placement of elders, there are no "Old Fart's Homes" in California
While this thread has disolved into humorous banter, the fact remains that if any of you still have parents alive or dependent adult siblings, you may be faced with such challenges, eviction is rarely the first choice in such instances. Hopefully, if you find yourself in such a situation, your children won't take your advice and evict you.
