...If I gave the baby up for adoption, then I would be a sorry ass woman who cared more about herself than her baby. Can't win for losing...

Let he is without sin cast the first stone!!!:D

Let's clear something up: Women/females who choose to give a child up for adoption are not "sorry a$$". Women/females who can see past their own selfish need/want to have a child, and realize that giving the child to someone else to raise, that is better equipped is one of the most adult, mature decisions any female can make.

I have more respect for those women who can look beyond the here and now, and decide that a child would be better off being raised by someone else. It takes an enormous amount of personally character to make that decision.

First off...if you had actually read this entire post you would see that I do not want my husband to adopt. I want to terminate parental rights from my ex who wants nothing to do with my child. I don't see what's wrong with wanting a bad person out of my child's life.
second, in the state of Georgia, it is mandantory for BOTH parents to take a parenting class. He didn't take his. So...next....

Look....I'd love for my Ex to just vanish at this point in time.

The Ex has not seen the children in 3 years, and pretty much just chosen his new family over his blood (Ex is the kids' biological father). He picks and chooses when he pays child support, and any other financial responsibilities as ordered by the court. And it's not because he hates the kids...he HATES me! He's doing it to punish me. The kids see him for what he is, and are doing fine (well, as fine as teenagers can be!)

It's not that no one understands what you are wanting or saying. It's that you didn't take responsibility for your part in this mess.
I was married for 15 years, and allowed a lot of things to happen because I chose to ignore things about my Ex. I chose badly (as far as "daddy" material) w/ the Ex---except for the fact that because of him, I do have two handsome, smart, funny, goofy, GOOD kids!
Would I choose the current significant other for their daddy? In a heart beat. And that would be strictly for my own personal satisfaction. It would sure take some of guilt I feel for choosing badly with their father, if I was able to give them a new Dad and a new name.

I guess the moral of my ramblings is this: There are a lot of things you are responsible for, accept those things and move on.

I'm new here but I scanned through this some. You want to reverse a Step parent adoption legally? I don't think you can without another parent or step parent will to replace current legal parent. If all you want is that the child not have contact with legal Dad then it seems you already have that plus your getting his money on occasion. Far as the legal portion goes I do not believe you can legally remove this man as your child's Father without another parent ready to assume that legal role

Rule 24.8 of the Uniform Rules of Superior Court says that each judicial circuit in Georgia MAY require parenting classes to help parents understand the effects of divorce on children. Nowhere does it say that they are MANDATORY, but instead can be ordered at the discretion of the court. Note also that it's about how to deal with the children in the case of a divorce, and NOT intended to teach parents how to actually parent their child.

If you're going to be spouting rules and statutes, get it straight.

No one says your child has to have this father in her life. If the father has resolved to remain a stranger for the rest of the child's life, then that's something you don't need to decide for her. He CAN choose not to have a relationship with the child if that's his wish. That doesn't necessarily warrant terminating his parental rights in other areas that can be legally regulated.

Understand also that if you get your wishes, he also wouldn't be further obligated to pay the child support he is now refusing to pay. At least now, while he is still the legal father, you have that to legally compel him to financially support his child, so use that to your advantage (as if that weren't the plan all along). If he chooses not to see the child, that's HIS loss.

Yes, and I want to win the lottery, buy a huge island (with guest accommodations) in Bora Bora, and see the Steelers win this year's Superbowl.

They're about just as likely as you getting your own way here.
