No offense, but can you honestly see that happening? I would never suggest sending a single mom over to a naked neighbors house to talk things over with him. Mo, maybe just knowing that you saw him will make him stop, I don't think you need to lock yourself up in your house. Unless you start catching him doing really creepy stuff. I would still report the incident no matter what.

I guess I'm not one to flip out over much. It doesn't have to be confrontational. She sees him in the yard and says, "Hey Bill, I don't know if you realized it but I saw you naked yesterday. You can get in a lot of trouble for being naked in public." Or, as suggested, she can call the cops, make a huge deal out of it without trying to solve the situation first, and spend the rest of her life staying inside all of the time because she doesn't want to face the guy she reported to the police.

Nudity in itself doesn't bother me. The problem is that I didn't really think that it was okay for him to walk around like that, but at the same time, I wasn't sure since he was in his own yard. Now that I think back, he's probably been nude every time that I saw him before, when I was walking out of the house with my kids. I'm angry because he had the opportunity to cover himself, but didn't AND if my kids are going to see someone nekkid, I'd prefer that it be me or their dad-not the damn neighbor. That's just yucky.

Yes, I should talk to him, but now I think he's creepy. I don't want to get the police involved because it WILL be awkward until we move, which won't be for another 2 years. They are the annoying neighbors. Parties til late, fireworks all night long around the 4th for days at a time, etc. I've never said anything, because every one should have the right to enjoy their home, even though they wake me up all the time.

I'm creeped out, and just can't bring myself to look at him, let alone talk to him. And he cheats on his wife, too, so I think that he's been waiting for me to acknowlege that I know that, too. Now this. UGH!

Like I said, we'll see on Monday what I do.

There's your solution! Talk to his wife, tell her that you saw him naked and that it is illegal for him to walk around in public that way and that you don't want to have to call the police. See if the situation changes before you take extra steps. I think that (within reason) people should be given a chance to do the right thing. Clearly, if you truly felt threatened and in danger my advice would be different. It seems that you are merely creeped out.

In Virginia and I believe most stats the law has changed based on Megans Law. Public Nudity can get you put on the Sex Offenders list. In virginia I know people who were put on it for peeing on the side of the road when they thought nobody was looking.

What he is doing outside naked is beyond. If you don't want to confront him a letter sent to him which you can claim you know nothing about should he ask may help. I personally would be creeped out too. I have a 6 yr old daughter.

I caught my neighbor again today. But this time I was going back towards the house to get the 4 bags of grass clippings, instead of just walking back into the house. I turned to pick up the first 2 bags, and he was streaking back into his house. I couldn't believe it. No freak/peep show, but I saw the back of him as he shot into the house. I'm sure I hesitated, because I couldn't believe that it happened again. Put that trash out, then turned for the last 2 bags. AGAIN, he was streaking BACK into the house! WTF?!?!? What is his problem?

I think I stood in my house for about 10 minutes trying to figure out if I should call the police and be late for work, or wait until tonight. Well, I was a few minutes late anyway, but I didn't call them. Tonight I am going to march my 5'0" self over to his house, and pray that his wife answers. I'm going to tell both of them that its got to stop, or I WILL contact the police the next time it happens. I will them that another neighbor has also seen him nekkid. I'm so frustrated. I'm ready to cry. But I'm scared of the retaliation if I call the police. My kids are STILL sleeping in my room from the last time.

I'm also moving, but not until this semester is over. Should I let them know that? Will it make a difference? Should I say that because I'm afraid of my pervert neighbor, I'm moving? Will that help?

I'm scared to call. He's my neighbor. He's also the electrician who was supposed to have updated my electrical system and instal a few more outlets. Now I won't even entertain the thought of letting him in my house. EWWW! I have paranoid thoughts of him installing cameras in my house or something.

He ruined breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

You're right, though. I do need to call, but I just can't. I wonder if he told his wife?
Okay Mo I gotta ask -- do you live on my block? There is a nudist down the street from me -- on the other side of my neighbors who have seen him in the buff several times. Thankfully I have not seen him but the first time I do, I will be calling the police. When they said something he said he had a right being on his property.
Not true. He is not allowed to expose himself in view of the public. If he were walking around his house in the nude that would be one thing -- unless he was in front of a picture window with no curtains. If he were at one of the nudist camps in Ohio that would be another thing and perfectly legal (and yes apparently there are nudist camps in Ohio).
But walking around outside in the nude is illegal outside of a nudist camp -- indecent exposure. It is against the law and if children see it, it is a worse crime that could possibly lead to him being prosecuted as a sexual offender. Paranoid? no. But you need to call the police and have them have a conversation with this man about the fact that he is breaking the law.

What you should tell him is if he doesn't stop he can be prosecuted as a sexual offender since he is parading around in the nude where children can see him. The police will take it very seriously. Nudists are not a problem HOWEVER there is a time and place for nudism and it is not in a public place where it breaks the law.

I agree, OG. I KNOW that I should call. But I'm scared. I'll call on my lunch, and go by the station this evening. Thanks!!!!!

I called the last time. They really tried to convince me to report it, but I just couldn't do it. Now that its happened AGAIN, I can't NOT do it, but I'm plain and simply SCARED.

They don't necessarily have to tell him you called and reported it. If it did get to trial you would probably need to testify for it to go anywhere but if it got to trial the guy has no one to blame but himself.

I'd agree with you if
1. he didn't have a fence on the other side of his house
2. the neighbor's that live on the side street didn't move out (they could see him from their driveway)

I'm the only one who could have and DID see him.

I'm not trying to be mean Mo but this situation is like many many other crimes and victims or even witnesses. If you do nothing about it, nothing will be done. You can either live and continue to be subjected to the nekkidness or say enough is enough and call the cops.

It is your choice. Only you can make that choice.

Do you have any male friends around? Get a little help from some friends for support. Having a very large male friend talk to the neighbor may do the trick.

If you don;t have any men around, get some little old ladies. The last time I saw a guy expose himself (it was at the Indy 500) a bunch of old ladies (and I mean 60 at the youngest) just pointed and laughed. It served its' purpose if you get my drift.

I called the police. They tried calling him, but no one answered. They're going to try again in the morning. The woman who answered was trying not to laugh. She said, "Well, he was wearing underwear, right?". When I told her NO, she put me on hold and said that they would call me RIGHT back, just as soon as they spoke to him. I'll let you know Friday what happened.

Thanks, everyone. I know I should have called in the first place. I've been looking for a condo to move to.

Well it's good to hear the police are taking it seriously and it's good to hear you have taken the steps to correct the situation.

If I lived close enough to ya, I'd buy ya a beer to celebrate. I know things can be tough when confronted with a situation like this. Although I have not experienced a perv neighbor, I have had a situaition that caused much distress in my life in a similar fashion.

Kudos for standing up for your rights!!

What is the name of your state? Ohio

I was taking out the trash yesterday morning, and turned to go back into my house through the back door. As I was approaching my door, my neighbor is coming from the opposite side of his house (coming towards me). He was butt a&& nekkid!:o :o He didn't try to cover himself or anything!:o :o There was no way he didn't see me; we were walking towards each other. There is no fence.

Now that I've seen the family jewels (if they even qualify for the name - I'd call them "costume" jewelry):D , I realize that when I see my neighbor daily as I walk out of the door in the morning, and he has no shirt on-that he may have been naked. Now I'm paranoid that I have a perverted neighbor who walks around outside nekkid. I also have a 2 year old and a baby, and I'm scared to go out of the house on Monday AM. Am I paranoid? (That's mylegal question, by the way) Can the police do anything, or can he walk around nekkid in yhis own yard?

I'm ready for the jokes. The day care provider asked if it was long.

One thing people need to remember, NUDISM has nothing to do with SEX!! We as a species are born naked, and throughout most of human history clothing was on an as needed basis only. The naked human body of it's self is not sexual. What is sexual is the phobias and tabboos we as a people attach to it.

Although it is against the law (both federal and state) in this country to discriminate on the basis of sex, women can be (and are) fined and/or jailed for simply doing what men are allowed to do.... going topless (and/or breast feeding) in public.
