I was recently terminated from my job at a small ma and pop company. To make a long story short, my direct supervisor and general manager went behind my back and worked together to get me fired. They spread rumors throughout the company about me that did circulate back to me. They also used other people's names against me without their knowledge, who when approached, denied they had ever said those things. The manager made many empty promises and I learned that they would talk behind my back about me. They fired me with a reason that I cannot communicate very well, although I had great relationships with all my customers. I was given 30 days probation to "change", but was fired 6 days in. I also later learned that the owner didn't know why I was getting fired, but gave his consent so the manager would stop pestering him about it. I am now jobless with a wife and new baby. Do I have a valid case I claim against them for the benefit of my wife and baby?
