O.K. kids now it's my turn to piss and moan.

Yes, we have made many entries here about spelling, grammar and other mistakes of understanding and construction of runon sentences that could stretch between the ends of the Golden Gate bridge.

Why? Because it's important. If you plan on standing before a judge to argue your case, as you do here when you present your side of an issue, do you expect the judge to decipher what you 'really' mean or what you present to him/her?

Well folks, we're the same. If we can't understand you, we can't help you. It's that simple.

Spelling errors that run rampant throughout a post, sentences that take two coffee breaks to read, wrong tenses and construction can mean different things depending on who is reading.

And what all of this shows is laziness. If you are online writing to this forum, you have access to a dictonary, a thesarus and any other tool you need to construct a cognizent post. One or two errors in grammar or spelling won't bring out the spelling police. However, when the reader can't decide if you are saying him or hymn they usually give up, which is exactly what a judge will do with you.

So before posting to this forum, take time to reread your post and see if it makes sense to you. Because if it doesn't, it won't to use either. And remember, the more emotion you present, the less facts we have to base a decision on.

If you are so pissed that you can't see straight, get off this forum, go take a walk, then come back and present us with facts. Not your opinion as to your rights, or how scuzzy your ex is or anything else. Because no one gives a damn about what you 'Think', and the judge sure won't.

I have written on these "Structure, style and usage" threads before and I will again. I am more interested in the substance of a post than I am in the form. Certainly it would be wonderful if people's post looked as though it had gone across the editor's desk, through the author's approval or "stet" of the edit and again through galley proofs prior to publication; but the reality is that this forum is not Harcourt, Brace and Jovanovich. The posters are not getting an advance on their publications. So there are typographical errors, misspelling, word omission, word choice errors, as well as other errors.

The mistakes are due to a variety of reasons, not just laziness: Lack of education. People think faster than they type. They are poor typist or they are careless. There are also some who edit until they have read something so many times that they have it memorized and so they read what was intended or even what was once written in the post but has long since been deleted through the multiple edits.

Side bar: I had no trouble understanding your post. However, for those who are interested in form, let me point out a few errors in your post. This edit is not intended to be comprehensive but only to give you some insight into a few of the errors you made. You misspelled "run on," "dictionary," "thesaurus," "cognizant," and made a wrong word choice of "use" (or it may have been a typo error) instead of "us." The words "Piss," "pissed," "scuzzy" have no place in standard written English as they are substandard words. Also the first letter of proper nouns are capitalized which means "hexeliebe" should be capitalized. "Because" is a subordinating conjunction and begins a dependent clause not an independent clause. A dependent clause cannot be a complete sentence by itself. Therefore: "Because it's important" is a sentence fragment and can be corrected by omitting the word "because" or by adding an independent clause to the dependent clause, e.g. "This is because it is important." Use the word "less" before an uncountable noun and "fewer" before a plural noun. Example: Change to [fewer facts] in this sentence: " And remember, the more emotion you present, the less facts we have to base a decision on." Like I said, this edit is not intended as a comprehensive edit of your post. There are other errors but my purpose was to provide insight into the number of mistakes which one can make even when attempting to avoid errors as I feel that you did.

Nice try. However, regardless of its origin and meaning its use is as a proper noun and, in fact, names generally do come from different languages and have a meaning which denote emotions, desirable attributes, or even work skills. So while a wagoner or wagon maker isn't capitalized, Wayne is capitalized.

I am already tense and stressed out from lawsuits, collection agencies, IRS etc but to add to it, I know have to worry about if I am going to be beat down because I make a few grammar or spelling mistakes! Geez! I am already feeling like such a loooser for having to file a BK. I surely don't need to feel any worse about myself for not punctuating correctly. I was excited to find this forum but I am not into beating anyone up for mistakes especially things so trivial as grammar. I am not here looking for a "trial run" of what I am going to say before the judge but for some advice. I am not even asking for support just advice and a bit of slack. We shouldn't be so hard on one another.

The point of the exercise was to make all posters aware that if the people of this forum can't understand what they are saying, how do you expect a judge to understand.

You don't have to be perfect, but you do need to understand how to communicate.

I intentionally spelled it wrong to be sarcastic along with now which I spelled know. I didn't say you were hard on me specifically. I was speaking of your post in general. I don't have enough energy to defend my comments or feelings to you being that is what my life is consumed with these days trying to explain and justify to the creditors. I have been a member of a few other sites and each one has a person like you. I have just learned that going round and round with people like you is pointless and in fact you get off on it. I think that is really sad. Now back to my post- do you have the answer for me regarding the EIN#?
