The obvious solution since both seems to agree upon adoption is to arrange for a licenced agency to make the arrangements for a closed adoption and have neither parent involved in selecting the child's parents.

Actually, since the little girl is 22, the obvious answer is for mom to back off completely and have her adult daughter post.

Uncle Jeffy, there you go being all sensible and stuff. Don't you know that overbearing need-to-not-be-involved people don't like sensible and obvious?

Personally, I would have never let him know his reckless sperm found a host

Because your "innocent" ADULT daughter had NOTHING to do with the conception, right? It was all done by him alone and without her knowledge? You need to get your ADULT daughter to some family planning classes where she will be told about the masses of birth control options out there. If she doesn't get how babies are made at this age, she never will, and you'll have TONS of grandkids being raised by other people all around in no time at all. Own up to your "child" having to take blame and responsibility for her own actions and choices rather than blame people she willingly committed these actions with. It takes two to tango and your "innocent" ADULT daughter was one of them.

Or you know... she could just decide to keep her child. Sounds like she has a great support network (you, her aunt and uncle) too. Probably have to go to court for a custody dispute, but if the father is truly a scumbag as you say he is, do you really think he'll be granted full custody?

I am not saying that your daughter had multiple partners,
Because after all, one who meets, sleeps with *probably unprotected* then gets herself pregnant by some random dude all in 60 days, was probably an innocent virgin before all this....

Don't just call her former "friends" scuzzy and nasty, how about the girl that laid down with the dude after knowing him just DAYS. She ought to be glad a baby is all she got out of it. While you're giving your daughter advice, remind her that people DIE from her behavior.
