Landlord bought out, now asking for additional deposit
The OP didn't say anything about refusing to sign a lease. A lease wasn't the issue. They stated that the new landlord wanted an additional $250 pet fee, and whether or not it was legal to ask for the additional fee.- nanaII

Sorry I couldn't offer more advice. We are a condo association. Our Rules & Regs clearly state that nobody is allowed to put satellite dishes on their balconies. Of course the rules & regs should be enforced by the Board. That's what they are in place for. It sounds like your Board is too lazy (or afraid of repercussions) to enforce them.- nanaII

If I were you, I would hire an attorney and take him/her with you to the Sheriff's department and ask why they wanted to talk to you. If they say the person with the information is not available, I would say that you want to make an appointment - with your attorney present.- nanaII

From what I can gather, they took the computer to see if any illegal activity can be proven from any records/emails on it. If your mom clearly does not remember how these pills ended up in her purse, let alone not even know what they were, why would she plead guilty to something she is not guilty of? I would take it to trial (even to possession). Like I said, I doubt very much the state is going to let it go that...- nanaII

If it were me, I would take it to a jury. I doubt it would ever get close to that. No jury is going to convict your mother of distributing steroids for three lousy pills. I doubt the state is going to waste taxpayers' money to take it to trial.- nanaII
