What I mean is does she have to have a steady job in order to be emanstipated? Or can she be emanstipated also because the father has a job?

My response:

Do you mean "emancipated" or "constipated"?

By the way, do you know that you have committed the crime of "Statutory Rape"? You could be arrested, tried and convicted.

IAAL

What...have you ran out of trailer trash jokes?
Yes IAAL, they have already covered that, but I doubt the drug addict parent gives a hoot or will be able to take time off from dealing to press charges. Now I'm in OK and the young man is in ID, and I don't know him from Adam, but sounds like he's trying to take care of his responsibilities. Very unusual for someone his age.....

O.K. everyone. Deep Breath.

Utah is one of the few states with no emancipation statute. The age of majority is 18 or, if the child is in school, when she graduates with her graduating class.

Therefore, let's forget the emancipation talk. It doesn't apply.

Now, as to custody, poster. Go talk with an attorney. At this point getting CPS involved will not only cause a deeper rift between you and the mother, but could also cause the baby to be lost in the system.

An attorney would help you to file for custody and the mother would have nothing to say about it.

Idaho Hex, not Utah

Re: birth certificate

No I am not on it beacsue the grandmother told my GF that I would go to jail if I was on it, but I said that I wanted the baby to have my last nae so she does. Should I get my name on te Birth Certificate? if so should I get it ASAP?

No the state actually likes having the fathers name on the B/C,
somewhere in grandma's little pea brain she knew that would give you paternal rights. Call your State Health Dept or whoever handles Idaho's births and ask them if you can sign your childs B/C.

LOL, no Hex you invented that little game all by yourself, so you get to play it all by yourself. You know if you would lower that pedestal you're sitting on a little bit, you could see the world a little better.....

Well go play with yourself. It's clear to me that all you seem to want to do is stoke the fires. If anyone wants to read the entire thread they'll see for themselves that I admit my mistakes.

You have just proven to me you're not worth the effort. You see, that's the difference between you and me. I admit when I've been wrong. You have to pick and choose how to attack someone and hope no one reads the whole thread so they know what you're doing.

You know Hex, you don't know the difference between you and me because you don't know me, you dish it out, and then get pissed when it comes back at you, and that's not just me, you do the same thing to other posters. As for the Utah/Idaho post, you assumed I was being a bitch and I wasn't. But now I am being a bitch. When someone bites me, I bite back. Now think or do whatever, I don't care.....

This is no GAME!!!!!!

Ok wait till you guys wait and hear how immature my GF'S mother is, ok anyways I have this recording of her being drunk and high so when she heard about that she said that I cannot go out with my gf until I give her the recording. now she isn't the kind of person that says it herself she has to have people say things for her, but this isn't the first time that she tried to get the recording from me, this is the second time, the first time she made her daughter mad at me and made her say that I have to choose between the baby and her or the recorder. Of coarse I said thats supid an I am not choosing anything, I told girlfriend that her mom is just putting thoughts in her head and what not. So I don' see why I dont just tell her mother that if she doesn't sighn the marrage contract then I will turn her in, but of coarse I am not that babbyish. So what do you guys think?

Fast_One I think you need to give the GM a wide berth for awhile until you get your ducks in a row and start the legal stuff, Its not any help to you, your GF or the baby when grandma is pissed off.

Take the advice given to you and get the ball rolling.

FATHERHOOD

Very little is known about the psychological aspects of teenage fatherhood,
such as its effects on young men's development.
Additionally, Coley and Chase-Lansdale call for more research on the effects of
father involvement on the children of teenage mothers.
The existing research on this topic suggests that having a strong relationship
with their father is good for the children's educational,
behavioral, and emotional functioning. However, this research also shows that having no
relationship with the father at all is better for children than having one that is
poor or one that decreases over time.

{The GM was told about this and she thought it was bull crap.}
